Job Summary: REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Dining Room Manager, Assistant Dining Room Manager, and/or Floor Supervisor.

The Barista position requires a combination of skills that include great guest service and the ability to make a good latte! Hot beverages, including cappuccino, lattès and espresso, are prepared using our sophisticated coffee machines.

Baristas wear uniforms provided by the company. Employees must bring their own black leather, close-toed, non-skid shoes.

Reporting Relationship

Reports directly to the Food and Beverage Manager on duty.

Responsibilities

1. Provide excellent guest service in an efficient manner.
2. Accurately record and enter all menu items in the Aloha POS system; serve beverages promptly to guests;
3. Collect and process forms of payment, ensuring guest satisfaction throughout.
4. Knowledge of beverage menus, espresso techniques and prices.
5. Knowledge of general guest information.
6. Maximize sales by using menu knowledge and suggestive selling techniques.
Offer and serve alcoholic beverages (where applicable) while adhering to established Xanterra alcohol policies.
7. Conduct self in a professional manner with the awareness that all actions and communications are within guest view. Ensure a congenial atmosphere for all.
8. Maintain cleanliness of the espresso cart and service areas. Ensure work area is orderly and properly stocked.
9. Complete assigned duties within each shift.
10. Develop and maintain positive communication with all co-workers and supervisors. Communicate daily with the Bar Lead regarding supplies needed for the Espresso Operation.
11. Handle all guest service issues in an immediate and professional manner.
12. Follow Company and departmental environmental practices to minimize wasted energy and resources.
13. Follow Company and departmental safety practices to minimize risk to self and others.
14. Follow Company and departmental policies and procedures.

Job Benefits: In park dorm-style housing available. RV sites are also available (this is your own vehicle) with full hook ups. Meals also provided in the Employee Dining Room.

Qualifications: Skills and Knowledge

1. Ability to organize and prioritize under pressure while maintaining a calm and pleasant demeanor.
2. Ability to communicate effectively with guests, co-workers, and supervisors.
3. Ability to absorb large amounts of information quickly: Service procedures, recipes, techniques, Aloha point of sales.
4. Knowledge of brands, selections and recipes helpful.
5. Knowledge of basic sanitation.
6. Ability to work independently in an unsupervised position.
7. Able to stand for long periods of time, approximately 8 hours per day.
8. Able to lift and carry a minimum of 50 pounds.
9. Bending and kneeling, stretching and reaching for extended periods of time.
