REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Reports directly to the Risk Manager.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.Responsible for performing safety evaluations and inspections of government owned facilities assigned to Xanterra Parks & Resorts, in Yellowstone National Park, using National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) Fire, Life Safety and NEC Codes, Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs), and National Park Service guidelines and/or regulations.
2.Conduct, coordinate, or assist with noise monitoring and other monitoring or sampling as required or needed utilizing instrumentation and documentation to comply with OSHA and other regulatory standards.
3.Assist with and coordinate the Job Safety Analysis program, personal protective equipment (PPE) assessments and ergonomic assessments as required by OSHA and other regulatory authorities.
4.Responsible for oversight of the Hearing Conservation Program (HCP), including coordinating and scheduling audiometric testing each season, follow-up and documentation of the requirements for Standard Threshold Shifts, and for managing the HCP billing process.
5.Assist in the review of Xanterra’s renovation or construction project design plans, contract agreements and contractor safety plans for compliance with OSHA regulations and NFPA 101 Life Safety Code.
6.Responsible for working in coordination with the Parkwide Safety Committee, including but not limited to: participation in committee meetings, submittal of health and safety recommendations, etc.
7.Responsible for scheduling and training of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) program for hotels and dormitories.
8.Responsible for training First Aid/CPR/AED classes. Maintains database for Company CPR training records and manages the billing process.
9.Responsible for CPR/FA/AED inventory and ordering of training supplies.
10.Maintains fire alarm and ERO response database for alarm and response tracking purposes.
11.Responsible for conducting Train-the-Trainer safety courses for the Engineering & Maintenance and Support Services & Activities Department’s designated safety trainers.
12.Responsible for supporting the Engineering and Maintenance and Support Services & Activities Departments in their safety and compliance needs.
13.Responsible for conducting Parkwide site assessment surveys of exterior environments within Xanterra’s land assignments.
14.Responsible for maintaining the Risk Management Inspection database. This includes input of all citations and the tracking of their completion. Follow-up will be required with each department to ensure deficiencies are completed by the inspection citation’s assigned deadline and to ensure proper written documentation of completed citations are received for the Risk Management Dept.’s files.
15.Makes recommendations for improvements to Risk Management Safety Programs, departmental safety training, job safety analyses, PPE assessments, etc.
16.Maintains Parkwide Unsafe Conditions log and follows-up on reported unsafe conditions within 24 hours whenever possible.
17.Performs other duties as required.

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:
·Must demonstrate the ability to develop and maintain a positive and productive relationship with the National Park Service, Xanterra Department Directors and staff personnel.
·Must be at least 21 years of age.
·Must have a valid driver’s license at the time of employment and maintained during employment.
·Must have good oral communication and interpersonal skills and be experienced in technical report writing and public speaking.
·Must have experience training and have the ability to create and administer training program outlines.
·Must have experience using computers and experienced in Microsoft Word and Excel software programs.
·Must be willing to acquire knowledge in the various applicable OSHA and NFPA codes.
·Must be capable of performing safety evaluations and inspections in a positive and professional manner, assisting with correction of deficiencies when possible.
·Must have strong organizational skills.
·Must have ability to work with minimum supervision to complete assigned tasks in a timely and professional manner.
·Must be a team player with the ability to enforce Company safety practices and code compliance in a positive and professional manner.
·Must adhere to all established Xanterra and National Park Service policies and procedures.
·Must comply with the OSHA and NFPA codes, standards, and regulations.
·Must possess a valid driver's license.
·Must be capable of lifting objects up to 75 pounds.
·Must be willing to acquire First Aid/CPR/AED Instructor certifications.
·Must be familiar with or acquire knowledge in the use, maintenance and calibration of testing equipment.
·Must be knowledgeable with the Xanterra Parks & Resorts – Yellowstone operations.
·Must be knowledgeable with the Xanterra Parks & Resorts – Yellowstone Risk Management and Safety Programs.
·Must have a working knowledge of the Xanterra Parks & Resorts – Yellowstone maintenance operations. |
